A reader gave me the heads up that Icon changed the Proform CS17e and added the 540 to replace it. Of course my curiosity got the best of me and for both this reader, the consumer who will read this and myself I am reviewing the Proform 540. It lists for $800 which is $300 less than the CS17e. I will do some comparing of these two models to see just how different or similar they actually are.
About the ProForm 540:

For the past four months, I have been researching treadmills with the goal of buying one that suits my needs and I wanted to share what I have learned with you. When I started, I thought it best to go to different fitness stores and talk to sales people, but that was hit and miss since some of the sales people knew a lot and some didnt know much. The other thing that I did was to look up treadmill reviews at the library and on the internet (I will give you the details later in the review). Finally, when I had brought the list of treadmills to something manageable, I visited the stores again and ran on the two treadmills I liked best.

I reviewed the F80 Treadmill by Sole. A reader saw the F83 but not the F80 and wondered if there were enough differences to justify spending a few hundred more dollars on the F83. Here is my review and my recommendation. I will be comparing the two models.
The basics:
The first difference is the price. Though there isnt a huge amount between the two the F83 will run you about $1800. The F80 will run you around $1500. $300 is $300 and to many this means a lot.
