Note: This picture is of the 400 X not the 400 GL.
When I first went to review the 400 GL Treadmill by ProForm I wasnt going to compare it to another machine. I then thought about it and realized that people might wonder what differences there are between the 400 GL and ProForms CX18i. At $800 the ProForm 400 GL Treadmill is on the higher end of ProForms treadmills and is only $100 less than the CX18i. So lets take a look at which one I like better and why.
The 400 GL Treadmill:

Many people are e-mailing me requests to review fitness equipment. One of the reasons is that there are so many choices; the prices are not all that different; and people dont know how to decide. I am reviewing ProForms CX18i Treadmill. I like the ProForm 840 a lot. The CX18i which sells for around $700 is less money than the 840. People have told me they like when I compare products. I will only compare two at a time since I think it is very confusing to compare more than two in one review. Since I like the 840 but it is a bit more expensive than the CX18i it is the 840 I will compare to the CX18i and we’ll see my rating.

ProForms 525 X Treadmill is the first treadmill I have reviewed that comes with dumbbells. This machine retails for $700 but if you look around you can find it for as low as $500. Please note: ProForm makes many versions of the 525 X including the ProForm CrossWalk Advanced 525x. The latter is a very different model with moving arms and iFit technology.
About the 525 X:
The 525 X is a space saving model meaning it folds. To fold the machine I pulled a pin out and the machine folded quite easily for a treadmill.

Update: 12-12-04: We now have over 350 hours on the Precor EFX 5.21i and have not had any problems. Just a great machine!!
Update: 11-21-03: We have over 100 hours on the Precor EFX 5.21i and just love it. We have found the Precor EFX 5.21i to exceed all of the good points listed in my Original review. In all the years that I used a treadmill, my blood pressure stayed at 136/88. In three months my blood pressure has dropped to 124/82. Work is very stressful now and we are selling/building a home so the Precor must be the main reason for this. GREAT WORK OUT MACHINE!!!!

ProForms 350 Treadmill is at the lowest end in terms of the companys treadmills. At $400 it may be hard to believe you can buy a decent but very, very simple treadmill.
The Basics:
There are several important features about a treadmill that I will start off with.

ProForms 6.0 GSX Treadmill is at the lower-middle end in terms of the companys treadmills. It sells for around $600.
Note that ProForm is owned by ICON fitness. This company also own Weider, Nordic Track and Weslo to name a few. There have been quite a few customer service complaints about ICON. However as I tell consumers we hear about the negative experiences and not the positive. If you have had a good experience with customer service by an ICON owned company, Id like to know. I have and know many people who have. I also know people who havent. I urge those of you who have had bad experiences to write the company through Planet Feedback and let them know that you have reviewed their machine. Also please note that this machine will take two people to assemble and many hours. Now for the review!
