I reviewed the F80 Treadmill by Sole. A reader saw the F83 but not the F80 and wondered if there were enough differences to justify spending a few hundred more dollars on the F83. Here is my review and my recommendation. I will be comparing the two models.
The basics:
The first difference is the price. Though there isn’t a huge amount between the two the F83 will run you about $1800. The F80 will run you around $1500. $300 is $300 and to many this means a lot.

I have been wanting to get a treadmill for ages. Finally, my wife wanted to get one to, so for Christmas, we bought one.
I wanted to get a treadmill that cost a little more, but after looking at several models, the ProForm 400X had everything the higher priced models had.
I assembled the model myself, which was a little confusing, but I got through it. The instructions were well voiced out, but a few more pictures could have made a big difference.

Unfortunately, not everyone is satisfied with his or her Smooth experience…
I bought the Smooth 9.15HR treadmill about a month ago. Now I was leery of buying an item so expensive off of the Internet especially since there was no way for me to test it.
My fears have been realized as I am not satisfied with the machine, or the service I have received.
The treadmill came out of the box pretty dirty (even though it is packed pretty tight). When I cleaned the dirt away and started putting it together I found that the motor cover was scratched up, and the plastic handlebar covers were both cracked.

Update: 12-12-04: We now have over 350 hours on the Precor EFX 5.21i and have not had any problems. Just a great machine!!
Update: 11-21-03: We have over 100 hours on the Precor EFX 5.21i and just love it. We have found the Precor EFX 5.21i to exceed all of the good points listed in my Original review. In all the years that I used a treadmill, my blood pressure stayed at 136/88. In three months my blood pressure has dropped to 124/82. Work is very stressful now and we are selling/building a home so the Precor must be the main reason for this. GREAT WORK OUT MACHINE!!!!
