I bought the 9.15HR and installed it only 1 week ago. At the beginning it
looked promising, but even within this short period of time, few flaws were
observed:
* Safety and Quality: I just started a manual training today. It should
start with 0.5 mph, but the display showed 0.1 mph, and the track started to
roll in what seemed to be the max speed. Definitely a software bug, but this is
extremely dangerous.
* Quality & Customer Service: I bought the heart rate transmitter for
additional $50 because; this is important for healthy and effective workout. It
does not work and the treadmill does not track the heart rate. I emailed the
support, but the reply was that this piece does not have a warranty (or in other
words: "go to hell").
* Precision: The calculation and indication of the burned calories is
about half of what I used to see on professional equipment at the gym. I
verified with http://tinyurl.com/acdc2 and
confirmed that the 9.15HR calculation is by far wrong. Also, the readout of the
maximum incline (stated as 15%) seemed to easy for me. I measured it and it
looks more like half (~6.4 degrees, ~7.1%).
* Ergonomics: OK, so the transmitter does not work, but there are
those sensors on the side handrail which you can touch with your fingers. I am 6
feet tall, and they are located so low that you cant measure the heart rate and
continue running at the same time. Even my 5′4" tall found it very challenging.</p>
* Human Interface: The design of the console is nice, but the
functions and the user interface are missing many details (I won’t list all of them
here).
The basic functionality seemed to work fine, but I expected much more,
especially with all this "best product" campaign.
