I have had my Landice L8 for two years now. I searched and researched several treadmills before purchasing the Landice. I did go for the L8 over the L7 because of the longer deck length. (63″ and opposed to 54″)
Even though I am not tall, the extra length made a huge difference to me.
The landice is a powerhouse of a treadmill. Don’t settle for anything like proform (gag!)
If you want quality, you gotta spend money for it.
This is definate quality. Built like a tank. and heavy.
make sure you place it where you want it because it won’t move easily. It is rather large, but that’s what you get unless you buy some folding piece of junk.
The 3 hp motor is a necessity if someone large will be running on it. Remember, if you are 200 lbs and are running on it, the machine is getting the impact of 3 times your weight. This machine will take that kind of abuse.
The reversible deck is a plus, since it is able to be flipped over after it wears on the one side. But, I am told, that could be 10 years with moderate use.
I opted for the sports trainer console because I think the executive is just a fancy bunch of extra features I didn’t need to tinker with. I like to punch in my program and go.
I don’t want to spend hours reading a manual to figure out all the fancy doo dads. The sports trainer has 4 built in programs, and 3 customizable programs. I like the fact that you can edit your user custom programs without actually exercising on the treadmill.
The heart rate control program is awesome.
And surprisingly, it is not too loud at a high speed.
